SMPE is a Professional Organization "to develop a cooperative spirit and friendship among members, to be of mutual assistance to each other and to promote and protect the interests and welfare of the American Merchant Marine". Since its founding in 1946, members have supported each other's interests and relied on each other to share solutions to technical problems and pass on the information to others in our field.
