Maritime Industry Museum at Fort Schuyler
This year, the Society of Marine Port Engineers, New York is proud to sponsor the Maritime Industry Museum at Fort Schuyler as she prepares to add several newly acquired models for display. Our donation will be used to restore the model of the Moore McCormack “Brasil”.
The Maritime Industry Museum at Ft Schuyler was established in 1986 and houses many unique artifacts ranging from the Clipper Ship era to the present. While the museum can boast of an extensive ship model collection it also serves as a significant depository of maritime industry books, periodicals, documents, papers, prints, photographs, and old steamship company records.
The Fort Schuyler Museum is housed on the campus of the State University of New York (SUNY) Maritime College at historic Fort Schuyler, The Bronx, New York. Four sides of the fort's irregular pentagon-shaped edifice face Long Island Sound and its juncture with the East River.
COME & VISIT - It is well-worth a visit and is just another example of the hidden treasures of New York.
